We purchased these names as a way of protecting them after an unpleasant experience we had while working with the Dennis Historical Society during which an unauthorized "squatter" bought their site name and used it for a parody site criticizing and insulting the society. I decided I could prevent such an action from happening again by preemptively registering these site names until such time as the Societies above wished to use them.
